Chips
I'm Going down the chip shop to buy chips for my tea
May-be I'll have fish with them I'll have to wait and see
When I get there I'll decide what tickles my taste buds
There's haggis and some sausage rolls and also some black puds
The smell of salt and vinegar and the sight before my eyes
Makes my mouth start watering as I ogle all the pies
I think I'll have a can of coke to wash down all the grease
And hope to God I don't regurgitate the mushy peas
Oh I love fish and chips I do you really cannot beat them
And I can't wait to get back home so I can sit and eat them.

The Rat Resuscitation Rhyme
By Pam Ayers
I found a dead rat in our woodshed
I found it at quarter to eight
I tried to give it the kiss of life
But I'd left it ten minutes too late.
The Beach Lovers
By Pam Ayers
Come and walk beside me
For the sun is sinking low
And together to the edges
Of the ocean we shall go
And all our rosy future
In perspective we shall put
Stepping lightly on the rubbish
As it moulders underfoot
Where all the plastic bottles
Blow across the golden sand
And old refrigerators
Know the tide's caressing hand
We will breathe the sweet aroma
I will take your hand for ever
Across life's broken glass
And I shall jettison you never.
